Present Day
G-DAKK has more recently appeared in films including Stephen Speilbergs
“Band of Brothers” , a BBCTV series shown Christmas 2001 for which she was
repainted, and she also provided the setting for a new world record to be
set by a drummer (Jerome the Experience) onboard in April 2002.

A limited edition die
cast model was launched of this aircraft at the end of 2001 by Propwings,
the first in a series of DC3 airliners. More recently she featured on the
Royal Mail first day cover issue commemorating propliners.
G-DAKK meets the standards for public transport aircraft operation under
JAR-OPS AOC, on which she currently operates.
There are 32 airline passenger seats onboard, with an average of 40 inches
seat pitch, this aircraft was built for comfort and not for carrying
large numbers.

There is also a galley
and hostess station with communication to the flight crew and P.A system
for passenger announcements.
For the comfort of the passengers there is also a cloakroom onboard
furnished with toilet and wash hand basin and window.
To complement the modern features installed to meet the necessary safety
standards for public transport, there are many original installations such
as the hydraulic auto pilot, still fully serviceable but superseded by
today’s modern equipment.
This aircraft must be viewed internally to appreciate the wealth of
features onboard.
